Healthcare Account Executive

American Office is seeking a driven sales professional with experience working with a variety of healthcare organizations for the role of Healthcare Account Executive in Richmond, VA.  This key role represents American Office and our contract furniture partners, including Herman Miller for Healthcare, to the central Virginia marketplace.

The Healthcare Account Executive utilizes sales, networking, and cold calling to develop and maintain relationships with potential clients, interior designers, and real estate professionals.  They act as a consultant to their clients and assist them in choosing the right solution for their space.  The Account Executive is responsible for the organization and successful completion of each client’s project and will lead a team of specialists to accomplish these goals.

Attention-to-detail, organization, and a proactive approach to customer service are required.  Knowledge of healthcare terminology, workplace trends in hospitals, and existing relationships in the Richmond healthcare community is strongly desired.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Business Development
  • Learning and sharing product knowledge
  • Consulting with clients
  • Product Specification
  • Order Management
  • Leadership of dedicated team of design, project management, and installation professionals
  • Customer Service

 

Candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably working for a contract furniture dealer or manufacturer
  • 3 years of healthcare related experience in interior design, sales, education, or healthcare field
  • Business Development / Sales experience in central Virginia marketplace
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail; Ability to multi-task
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, team-player attitude
  • Ability to work closely with and communicate well with
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Bachelor’s degree

 

Compensation:  1st year salary; year 2 and thereafter is draw plus commission

Marketing Assistant

American Office is seeking a self-motivated, creative, and organized person to fill the position of Marketing Assistant.   The position is located in American Office’s Baltimore office with regional travel
to other locations as needed.

The Marketing Assistant will provide support for general external marketing activities including planning events, social media, and participating
in the creation of marketing campaigns and presentations.  The Marketing Assistant will work with the Marketing Manager and Director of Human Resources to assist in internal marketing efforts including company activities, charitable initiatives, sponsorship, amenity items, and other duties as required.

This is an entry-level position ideal for an enthusiastic self-starter looking to get hands-on experience in a corporate marketing department. Candidate should have
an appreciation for interior design.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Event Planning
  • Social Media / Communications
  • Assist with Marketing Campaigns / Projects
  • Manage amenity program
  • List Management
  • Administrative duties as required

 

Candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated marketing and event planning experience through internships, school or volunteer activities and employment; experience working in a professional office environment preferred
  • A bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing,  Business, Journalism,  Public Relations, Art, Interior Design or related discipline; degrees in other specialties are acceptable if relevance
    can be demonstrated
  • Active social media engagement and a desire to repreent the company in venues such as twitter, facebook, etc.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail; Ability to multi-task
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work closely with and communicate well with staff in off-site locations
  • Proficiency with MS Office;  Adobe Creative Suite preferred but not required

FSC Certification for Filing

Herman Miller has announced that it has obtained Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification for select Filing & Storage products.    This includes most Meridian and Tu Filing & Storage with wood or laminate tops or fronts; Passage and 5000 Series Desking with Veneer or Laminate tops; and most veneer flipper door fronts on systems furniture.   FSC Certified product may help to earn points towards LEED Certification.
